Use Your Own Domain with paperboat.website
You can use your own domain with paperboat.website.
That means you can turn myblog.paperboat.website into myblog.com if you own myblog.com or even deepdishpizzalovers.dk if you like.
If you prefer to keep the default myblog.paperboat.website address, simply leave the custom domain field empty.
Set Up Your Custom Domain
To use a custom domain, go to your site settings, click on custom domain and enter the domain you want to use, then click Save & Verify.
You can use:
- Apex domains (example.com)
- Subdomains (www.example.com, blog.example.com)
Registrar DNS Settings
Log in to your domain registrar (Namecheap, GoDaddy, Cloudflare, etc.) and go to DNS settings.
Add a CNAME record:
Type: CNAME
Host / Name:
@(for apex/root domain)www(for www subdomain)blog(for blog subdomain)
Value / Target: paperboat.website
DNS changes can take 5 minutes to 48 hours to propagate.
Visiting Your Site
Visit your domain over HTTPS.
An SSL certificate will be issued automatically on the first request.
Editing Your Website
You’ll still need to visit https://paperboat.website to edit your site.
Your custom domain is read-only and used only for viewing your published content.
